Community Guidelines
StayClarity is for honest, first-hand comparisons between a property listing and the real place. These rules apply to reviews, ratings, photos, usernames, helpful votes, reports, and appeals.
Effective · Version 2026-08-15
1. Stay on topic
Describe how the listing’s photos, description, dimensions, amenities, location claims, or condition compared with what you personally observed during a stay, tour, inspection, or visit. Rate the accuracy of the listing, not a host, landlord, agent, seller, tenant, guest, neighbor, neighborhood, or protected group.
Do not review from the listing page alone, hearsay, a news story, or an online dispute. Do not use StayClarity to negotiate, demand a refund, resolve a personal conflict, advertise another service, or organize a campaign against a person or property.
2. Be genuine and transparent
- Describe what you actually experienced and distinguish opinion from a factual claim.
- Do not fabricate an experience, use a fake identity, coordinate submissions, or present AI-generated text or images as a real experience or place.
- Do not buy, sell, trade, or offer a reward for a review conditioned on a positive or negative rating. Never threaten or pressure someone to submit, change, or remove a review.
- Clearly disclose if you own, manage, work for, represent, compete with, received an incentive from, or have another material connection to the listing or a related business.
- Correct or remove your review if you learn it is materially wrong.
3. Protect privacy and physical safety
Do not publish or solicit a person’s name, face, likeness, signature, phone number, email address, private account, private document, access code, financial information, government identifier, vehicle plate, precise routine, live location, health information, or other personal or sensitive data. Do not identify a child. Give useful property context without adding a precise address if it is not already part of the public listing URL.
Never threaten violence, encourage self-harm or illegal activity, facilitate trespass, expose security weaknesses, dox someone, or share information that could enable stalking, burglary, discrimination, or another foreseeable harm. If there is an immediate danger, contact local emergency services rather than relying on a StayClarity report.
4. Treat people with dignity
Do not harass, bully, shame, sexually exploit, impersonate, or target a person with repeated unwanted content. Hate speech, dehumanizing language, slurs, or attacks based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, caste, disability, age, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, or another protected characteristic are not allowed.
5. Make supported claims
Use specific observations and avoid exaggeration. Do not accuse an identifiable person or business of a crime, fraud, discrimination, infestation, dangerous defect, or other serious misconduct unless the claim is relevant to listing accuracy, based on your direct experience, stated carefully, and supported by information you are lawfully allowed to share. A report to StayClarity is the right place for private evidence or a legal concern.
6. Photo rules
- Photos are optional. If you submit one, it must be an original photo you took during your first-hand experience and must accurately depict the property.
- Do not submit a listing photo, screenshot, stock image, AI-generated image, materially deceptive edit, watermark, ad, or another person’s work. You must have permission to photograph and share the scene.
- Keep people, private possessions, documents, screens, keys, codes, plates, and sensitive details out of frame. Do not photograph a place where a person reasonably expects privacy.
- Slot one is an optional private verification photo and is not published. Up to four additional review photos may be published after approval. Location and camera metadata are removed during processing, but visible details remain your responsibility.
A Photo-backed or similar label means a processed photo was submitted and met the workflow requirements. It is not a guarantee that the reviewer is a tenant or guest, that the photo date or property is independently proven, or that every statement is accurate.
7. No spam, manipulation, or unlawful content
Do not post repetitive or irrelevant content, links, HTML, malware, scams, phishing, solicitations, or instructions for wrongdoing. Do not infringe copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, database, or other rights. Do not manipulate ratings, helpful votes, reports, or labels with automation, multiple accounts, incentives, or coordinated activity.
8. Reports and notices
Use Report on the specific review and select the closest reason. Explain what violates these rules; choose the safety reason for threats, self-harm encouragement, or other dangerous content. A StayClarity report is not an emergency service, so contact local emergency services if someone may be in immediate danger. Do not include unrelated private information. Copyright notices should follow the Copyright Policy. A notice of illegal content can also be sent to legal@stayclarity.com with the exact review URL, the affected words or image, a clear explanation, the relevant country or law if known, and reliable contact information.
Reports are private. Submit them in good faith. False, duplicative, retaliatory, or automated reports can result in limits or suspension. We acknowledge and decide sufficiently detailed legal notices and may contact the reporter or contributor for information.
9. How moderation and ranking work
Every new or edited review is private while staff review it. Image tools automatically validate file type, size, and dimensions and create a metadata-stripped copy; they do not make the final publication decision. Qualified staff make moderation decisions and record a reason and audit history. We do not reject or suppress a review merely because its rating is negative or positive.
Staff may approve, ask for revision, reject, remove, or restore a review; remove a photo; resolve or dismiss a report; block an unsafe listing URL; or suspend an account. We consider the rule involved, context, severity, evidence, risk, and history. Serious violations can lead to immediate removal or suspension; repeated lower-level violations can lead to escalating restrictions.
The default order places photo-backed reviews before reviews without submitted verification evidence, then orders each group by recency. People can choose available newest, highest, or lowest sorts and filters. Ratings do not determine whether a compliant review is accepted.
10. Decisions and appeals
We aim to give the affected contributor or reporter a clear reason for a decision. You can request a free human review within six months by emailing support@stayclarity.com with the review URL, decision, and relevant context. Someone qualified will review the appeal without relying solely on automation and will uphold or reverse the decision. We may preserve restricted content and limited audit records during an appeal, legal hold, or safety investigation.
